Join our Division!

Want to start a Key Club in Staten Island, follow the steps below to create an official club. If you have any questions please contact the Lieutenant Governor at any point. We are happy to welcome a club into our division!

Step 1

Determine if a sponsor is available

Decide which community organization you would like to enlist to be your sponsor. If you're not sure where to start, we can help you connect with local organizations that are familiar with these programs. If you have contact with the local Kiwanis Club, you can begin there. But if you need help, feel free to reach out.

Step 3

Recruit your members

Anyone who is a member at the start of the club is a charter member, and the initial set of officers are charter officers. Find fellow students who share your passion for helping others and being a leader. Ask these students to embark on this process with you. To be chartered, a club must have 25 members and pay their dues. Club dues are usually $13 a member and are used to officialize your membership and helps Key Club with its charities. It helps keep Key Club standing.

Step 2

Find an advisor

Identify one or more faculty/staff members in your school to be the club advisor. Consider someone who has a particular interest in service or leadership development. Or, someone who was a key club member themselves. Explain your goals and express your passion. It doesn't hurt to put yourself out there!

Step 4

Contact the Lieutenant Governor

Once you've out all these aspects, contact the Lieutenant Governor of Division 10, Maggie Reznik. Members at Division 10 are always happy to answer any questions you may have and support you in this creation process. Contact us to complete this creation process!
